'Hi Everyone
After a prolonged absence, we are hoping to restart on Thursday, 4th March 2021 at 7.00pm online (updates to follow shortly). Over the last Year (2020) we as a group have achieved many of the goals that we had planned. They are as follows:
1) Repairs to all the concrete balustrades
2) Bin cage gates (brought forward)
3) Bin cage cellars (cleared out and new locks administered)
4) Main stair cellars (cleared out) now awaiting new security locks
5) All rubbish and fly tipping (cleared)
6) Anti-social behaviour issues and complaints (diminished)
7) Balconies inspected and drains cleared (due to water ingress)
All of the above goals we could not have achieved without the help and support of ELC. On behalf of BLTRA I would like to say a big vote of THANKS to Paul Grant (Prop Maintenance), Joe Stockman, Scott Barclay, Alex Sutton and all other members of East Lothian Council who have supported and advised us in getting the jobs completed successfully.
A personal vote of Thanks to Councillor Andrew Forrest who has attended and supported us at all of our meetings and pointed us in the right direction.
With regard to anti-social behaviour, I would like to thank Kenny Black and the Safer Communities' Team, who are always ready and willing to answer our pleas, whether by phone or by email, and deal instantly with our issues or concerns.
Moving on to this current year and in view of the unprecedented time we are all living in at present, the support of everyone is essential in keeping our community safe and looking out for one another.
My hope for this year is that Beach Lane Tenants & Residents will grow as a community and as a group, that people will feel confident to voice their ideas, incentives, and support us in making this year just as successful as the last one was.
Our AGM will take place in April 2021.
Many Thanks Again for All Your help and support. Look forward to seeing you all in March.'
Best Regards
Linda Finlayson

Notes from AGM, 22nd April 2021
New Office Bearers were appointed for the position of Secretary and Treasurer. They also had a few new Committee Members coming on board, which means they have a good strong team, with new and fresh ideas for their future ventures.
They had two Guest Speakers - Jim Heron who is Chairperson of East Lothian Tenants & Residents Panel (ELTRP), who gave an excellent presentation of what his role is in being the Chair person of ELTRP, and also what ELTRP does as an organisation. They then had a short question and answer session.
Their second speaker was Stuart MacKenzie, the Chair of Elphinstone Community Association (ECA). Stuart gave an overview of ECA and how they work with the community on local issues; how they have a strong committee and the success of the ‘Peeptoun Post’, their local ECA Newsletter.
The newly elected Chair, Linda Finlayson, thanked both Jim and Stuart for attending and sharing with the group; Linda also thanked the previous Committee for all their hard work. They are all looking forward to working with the newly elected Committee.
The group have held several meetings since their AGM, prioritising the local issues raised. They are currently exploring adopting a ‘planter’ at the harbour, improving their own planters and looking into installing planters along Fisherrow for the local community and businesses. The group also wish to extend communication and try to get more people from Beach Lane and Cairds Row involved in the group.
Next meeting will be held on Thursday, 9th September at 7pm
